We have been working for Ulli and Christian Mittermeier for over 20 years. It all started with the “schlöffel”. This is the name of the figurative element in the logo. A neologism of the german words for key and spoon. Both together symbolise a hostel of original design, where people found a meal and a place to spend the night on their arduous journey. At the boutique hotel & gourmet restaurant Villa Mittermeier in the medieval town of Rothenburg, you can trace those long-gone days a little, thank God, albeit in an incomparably modern way. That’s why we chose this symbol back then, as a nod to centuries of tradition, and redesigned the logo in 2018. Including the “schlöffel”, of course.

This was also a good opportunity to completely redesign the website and implement it according to the latest findings in terms of usability and SEO. And here, too, tradition has found its place in the form of black and white images. A stylistic device that will never really go out of fashion. And by the way, when you mouse-over, the images become colourful again.
